ABSTRACT

Deaf children suffering stemmed from the difficulty hearing, so that the formation of the language as one way of communicating be hampered. For it is required a medium of learning in accordance with their characteristic and learning media should set out the functions of the sense of vision. The purpose of this research is to create a learning media to suit the needs of the deaf and the media where it could be used learning and anytime. By looking at a very significant technological developments so that researchers want to apply such learning into a media device (smartphone) motion. The content of this application in the form of text, pictures and videos, of which there are only videos contain cue points and finger alphabet. System development method used is Extreme Programming (XP) according to Kent Beck which consists of 5 stage, namely : Planning, Design, Code, Testing and launching. The result of this research is an application of sign language which is made on the Android platform.
