ABSTRACT

There are still many students who miss the school without being noticed by parents who can give impact the expenditures of students from school because they have maximum point of violation and there are students who missed the lesson at a certain time. It is very disappointing the school as well as parents. The purpose of SMS (short messages service) gateway Presence system is to inform accurately on attendance and the learning process of the students at the school. The parents also can participate in monitoring their children in the school. Methods of data collection is observation (observation) directly in SMA Negeri 1 Bukateja to determine the level of students discipline at school. Besides that, this researchalso uses interview method to the counseling teachers and parents as well as literature study to get a reference to the presence system by using SMS (short messages service) gateway.
The concept of research is in the form of student presence system by using PHP and SMS (short messages service) gateway in SMA Negeri 1 Bukateja. It is an application that aims to reduce the rate of absenteeism of students in the school. The conclusion of this research is there have been made the application of the presence system of students by using PHP and SMS (short messages service) gateway in SMA Negeri 1 Bukateja that will help parents to monitor their children at school.
