ABSTRACTS This study entitled "Intrusion Detection and Prevention System based on local network IDS And Firewall"which aims to protect the network from intrusionattempts made by an intruder. The methods used inthis research is to use the method as a reference ofthought framework of the stages of the research the author did. IDS functioned as detector of the attack fitthe existing rule and then alert messages stored in the database and is sent via sms to a networkadministrator, while Firewall is used as packet filtering with how to determine the security policy that is ratedimportant. The result is when the IDS provide a warning message when there is an attack, a networkadministrator can block any such attacks by manual with firewall or firewall will block such attacks on its own in accordance with the security policy applied bynetwork adminisrator before.
