Abstract The letter is an important communication tool in an institution. Every incoming mail received and outgoing mail sent by an agency, not just as a communication tool but also as an authentic proof. In the management of incoming and outgoing mail are located in the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto still manually. Where the data management process incoming mail still using the written ledger and using software excel in recorded statements however processing outgoing mail only recorded in the ledger. While on stage just a letter archiving hardcopy document storage. To deal with the existing state of the information system will be created incoming and outgoing mail using a computer that is stored in the database. The purpose of this thesis is to create an information system of Incoming and Outgoing Mail at the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto covering process incoming mail, disposition process incoming mail, process outgoing mail and report generating. Data collection methods used to construct a letter of archival information systems is to conduct interviews to explore the problems and needs of the system, to see firsthand observation of running processes, documentation obtained from the archives of letters and literature to develop a knowledge base the authors, the system methodology is a model waterfall, using analysis tools use case diagram. The method used to make information systems Incoming and Outgoing Mail at the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto is to design systems and databases include context diagrams. Process used to design the system is to create a tiered diagrams and Data Flow Diagrams (DFD). While designing a database to create an ERD Conceptual Data Model (CDM) that is generated in the Physical Data Model (PDM), the results are entered into a database using MySQL. This applications are web-based local access (intranet) using Yii Framework, with database server using the MySQL, web server using Apache. With the establishment of information systems Incoming and Outgoing Mail in the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto is expected to facilitate the data processing incoming mail, the disposition of incoming mail, outgoing mail and reports and can improve performance, especially for a general officer.
